I agree. As an electrical engineer who works with mechanical engineers every day, I found Mark's Macguyver-like ability to almost always cobble together a solution a little unbelievable (when something breaks at one of our plants, it's often a team effort to get it back working again). But the humor and the plot kept me engaged, and I was definitely rooting for him the whole way through!

Vlad, I feel that way about Orson Scott Card. Don't clue me in on Willis' faults as a human being, let me finish enjoying her other works first. (Of course, now that you've said that, now I'll check them out from the library rather than considering purchasing them outright).
